Self-E
Working with others to take our best Self-E's
Self-Esteem Program For Grades 4-6
Young people aged 9-12 need a lot of support. They are undergoing rapid changes, with the onset of puberty, increased engagement with social media combined with increased independence. This phase begins detachment from caregivers and more reliance on peers. To support this phase, understanding the meaning of self-esteem, how self-esteem affects self and other, exploring our identities and how peer relationships can affect how we see ourselves is important. Exploring these concepts while consolidating respectful co-regulating peer relationships, supports young people in the present moment but also throughout their schooling.
Our program is held on school premises, where young people feel safe to explore creatively and have confidentiality. It is run by a qualified Arts Therapist, for eight 9-12 year olds & runs for one session per week over 8 weeks.
This 8 week program utilises the tools of Arts Therapy, inspiring creativity, fun, a sense of belonging and safety while addressing important concerns for our young people.
Through engagement with this program your students will;
Understand how they can develop reciprocal healthy relationships, supporting positive peer friendships.
Gain deeper understanding of what boundaries look like and feel like.
Achieve a better awareness of themselves through exploration of self identity.
Gain insight into how the media affects our self esteem.
Perceive how our self-esteem affects our daily life & how others influence how we view ourselves.
