CD KIDS

Expressive Social & Emotional Workshop (Chakradance™ Kids)

A gentle, creative program supporting children aged 6–10 to understand their feelings, build confidence, and develop lifelong emotional skills.

‍ ‍Chakradance™ Kids is a nurturing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program designed to help children better understand themselves and others, while building resilience in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

Through a unique blend of storytelling, movement, creativity, and mindfulness, this workshop supports the whole child—emotionally, physically, and socially—helping them develop skills they can carry into everyday life.

What your child will learn

Each workshop is centred around three key life lessons:

  • Trusting instincts – learning to recognise and listen to body signals

  • Healthy emotional expression – understanding feelings and learning safe ways to express and regulate them

  • Confidence and resilience – building self-belief, inner strength, and a positive sense of self.

What the workshop looks like

The workshop is thoughtfully designed to run in three parts, each exploring one of the key life lessons: trusting instincts, healthy emotional expression, confidence and resilience

Each part follows the same gentle, predictable structure, helping children feel safe, supported, and confident as they move through the day.

✨ Storytelling
Each lesson begins with a magical, engaging story that introduces the theme in a way children can relate to. Through characters and imaginative worlds, children begin to understand the life lesson on an emotional level.

✨ Guided Movement
Children are then invited into a guided movement to embody the story. This helps them connect with their bodies, express emotions, and practice regulation strategies in a playful and supportive way.

✨ Creative Expression (Art)
Each child completes a creative activity linked to the lesson, giving them a meaningful way to reflect, express themselves, and take something tangible home.

✨ Group Sharing
There are opportunities for gentle group discussion, supporting connection, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the lesson.

Breaks, Lunch & Integration Time

Between each part of the workshop, children are given time to rest, integrate, and simply be kids.

These breaks include:

  • Free play to support creativity and social connection

  • Snack and lunch time to nourish their bodies

  • Opportunities to relax, chat, and build friendships

This unstructured time is an important part of the experience, allowing children to process what they’ve learned, reset, and return to the next session feeling calm and ready.

Mindfulness & Relaxation

Throughout the day, children are gently guided through simple breathing and mindfulness practices.

These moments help children:

  • Feel calm and grounded

  • Build awareness of their body and emotions

  • Learn practical tools to manage big feelings

These are evidence-based strategies that support emotional regulation, focus, and overall wellbeing—skills children can take with them into everyday life.
