Amanda Tuckerman

About Me

My name is Amanda and I am a creative mother of two teenagers.  I love walking on the journey of self-discovery, incorporating artistic exploration to lean into and accept myself more fully.  Expressive Arts connect us to the parts of ourselves we may not have words for and provides us with an accessible tool to be attuned to our inner selves and trust what we find there.  Creativity has been a regulating tool since childhood and I am passionate about sharing this resource with my own children as we navigate life’s challenges whether that be neurodivergence, medical trauma or familial structural changes.

My Approach

I work with a humanistic, person directive methodology.  Each person knows themselves best and what they need.  I am committed to attuning, with a strengths-based focus to the world view each person holds and working from this perspective.  This approach opens up communication pathways with authentic patterns of being and deepens our connection to our inner selves. I utilise expressive creative tools such as movement, sound, art making and clay fields alongside neuroscience, polyvagal theory and developmental theory.  This supports an empowering frame work for all neuro types, to strengthen a positive view of self which is taken into engaging with the world.  I believe that through the therapeutic relationship we can uncover our inherent tools which we each carry, in order to create shifts, to integrate and to heal and to feel our whole complete selves.

Who I Work With

I am passionate about working with caregiving adults and young people between the ages of 4 and 16.  I also offer one-off caregiver support sessions.

Hobbies/Interests

Outside of my Lemon Drops life, I am committed to keeping life simple.  You will find me studying, painting, being near the ocean with friends and being with my children, including them in the learning discoveries of life, whether that be cooking, creating or enjoying time together.  I love caring for my indoor plants…my outdoor plants are a dried up alternative story.
