Kate Calder
About Me
I'm Kate, a Creative Therapist, support worker, and yoga teacher with a deep passion for supporting children and teens through creative expression. I’ve spent the past three years helping young people explore their emotions, build confidence, and discover calming tools through the power of art, movement, and mindfulness. I bring a warm, grounded presence into each session, creating a space where children feel seen, safe, and encouraged to be their full selves.
My Approach
My sessions are child-led, creative, and gently structured to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience. I integrate art therapy with body-based tools such as breathwork and simple movement practices drawn from yoga to help regulate the nervous system and build inner calm. I meet each child where they're at, offering a space where their inner world can be safely expressed, explored, and supported through colour, shape, and imagination.
I love the approach’ expressing your inner world into your outer world’.
Who I Work With
I work with children and young people aged 6 through to teens, as well as sibling groups.
I currently do not offer NDIS-funded sessions.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of my work, you’ll find me by the ocean, practicing yoga, exploring in nature, or getting lost in a creative project. These are the spaces where I reconnect and find inspiration — and I love sharing that sense of wonder and grounding with the young people I support.
