Kaz Porch
About Me
Hi, I’m Kaz Porch - a mother of four, former Primary School Teacher, Registered Play Therapist, and Play Therapy Supervisor. My work is shaped by my lived experiences of childhood, parenting, teaching, and therapeutic practice. I am deeply relational in my approach and guided by research in interpersonal neurobiology, neuroscience, and nervous system regulation, which highlights connection, relationship, and adult regulation as central to meaningful and sustainable change.
Who I Work With
Developmental Play Specialist - Education Services
I work collaboratively with early learning services, schools, educators, and leadership teams, offering therapeutic educational mentoring, coaching, supervision, and professional development tailored to your unique context. My approach supports educators to move beyond behaviour management strategies and toward deeper understanding, regulation, and relationship-based practice. I prioritise psychological safety, trust, and reflective spaces where educators feel supported rather than judged, resourced rather than overwhelmed, and confident in their capacity to support children’s wellbeing and learning.
Play Therapist - Children & Families
I also work individually with children in a play therapy capacity, using an Integrative Holistic Play Therapy approach that supports emotional regulation, resilience, and connection. I value working alongside parents and caregivers, supporting you to better understand what your child’s behaviour may be communicating and strengthening relationships within your family. My work is gentle, respectful, and non-judgmental, grounded in the belief that children thrive when they feel safe, seen, and understood - and that parents are the experts on their own children.
My Approach
I practice an authentic, person-centred relational approach harnessing the powers of connection, empathy, compassion and unconditional positive regard believing these to be the foundation for transformational change in education. There is a beauty to being authentically you, held with no judgment in a safe and trusting environment that fosters self-compassion, giving a certain freedom allowing you to be curious, and encouraging growth, both personally and professionally. I believe that we are all ‘experts’ in our own lives, shaped by our unique personal experiences and my role is to guide and support you on your journey of growth and development.
I believe meaningful change happens in safe, trusting relationships, and I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.
