About Me

Hi, I’m Silvia—a mum to two wonderful young boys and a passionate advocate for children’s emotional wellbeing through the arts. With over 15 years of experience working with children and creative expression, I have seen how the arts can open meaningful conversations and provide a safe space for emotions that may be difficult to put into words.

My Approach

My work incorporates a range of creative modalities, including clay field therapy, music, dance, play, and visual arts. While working in Malaysia, introducing expressive arts to young people, I witnessed how these forms of expression can foster self-discovery and emotional healing. This led me to Arts Therapy, where I bring together my love for working with children and the arts in a therapeutic way.

My practice is informed by Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Humanistic Psychology and Neuroscience, and I take a holistic, child-centred, strength-based approach. I also integrate Sensorimotor Art Therapy to support children in connecting with their emotions through body-based awareness. I believe that each child is the expert in their own experience, and my role is to gently guide and support them toward self-expression and nervous system regulation through creative exploration.

For children facing challenges such as low self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, or difficulties in managing behaviours, art and play provide a safe and natural way to communicate and process their experiences. Through creative engagement, they can explore their emotions, develop resilience, and move towards greater emotional wellbeing.

Who I Work With

I work with young people between the ages of 3 and 18 and also offer sibling sessions and caregiver support sessions.

Hobbies/Interests

Outside of my Lemon Drops life, I love living near the beach, where I can walk my crazy puppy and play in the waves with my kids. Music is always playing in our house and, whenever I can, I’ll be painting, reading, exercising and getting out in nature!

I feel truly privileged to support children, young people and their families on their journey of self-expression and healing.
